What clothing should I take?

Yacht Charter - Simply the best holiday you will ever have!

Yacht charter is generally an informal and relaxed holiday. Below, we have listed items that we feel might be useful to the well dressed, sensibly equipped seafarer.

Shorts, T-shirts and swimsuits are normally the order of the day and for evenings on shore, dress is casual and a shirt and slacks/skirt would be formal enough for almost everywhere.

LUGGAGE - For easy stowage, please use either folding or collapsible cases / bags.

Extra T-shirts should be packed for children who are likely to spend a great deal of time in the water to protect their shoulders from sunburn. Fair skinned children should use a sun block while outdoors.

CREW GRATUITIES (At the charterers discretion )

We are often asked what gratuities should be paid to the crew at the end of the charter. We find the question very difficult to answer. Although no gratuity is required,it is to some extent expected and will certainly gratefully received! You may not be fully aware of the long hours a good crew will work during your charter - 100 hours per week is not unusual, with no time off the yacht. But we must remember that they do it through choice and hopefully they enjoy it! If the crew have really performed beyond expectations and have perhaps worked particularly long hours to look after you the best guidance that we can give you would be a gratuity of approx. 10% of the charter fee would be a fair amount.
